CYCLE ISOLATION TESTING
This service targets the recovery of efficiency losses at your industrial plant site.
Our approach provides a systematic, easy to follow method, of recouping loss megawatts, lowering heat rate, and improving efficiency.
The main goal is to identify a small population of valves and traps for repair while significantly increasing efficiency.
This service also reduces outage scope and wasted maintenance budgets by identifying tight valves.
METHODOLOGY
Using our patented ValveAlyzer® System, site specific databases, custom test procedures, acoustic emission testing, complex thermal analysis, and other proprietary data analysis methods, we are able to identify leaking Cycle Isolation Valves and Traps.
We test all normally closed Turbine Cycle isolation valves and steam traps that, if leaking, lead to plant wide losses. Loss impact depends on what is leaking, where the leak goes, and the severity of the leak.'
THE SURVEY PROCESS
We use a multi-step, analytical approach of identifying cycle isolation losses as a result of leaking valves and poorly functioning steam traps. This process includes the following:
Heat Balance Diagram & Flow Diagram (also known as P&ID or Plant Diagram) review and analysis.
Plant specific Valve and Trap Database Build
Custom Troubleshooting Plans (as required)
Test Plan Selection - ensures safety and return to normal operation.
Preliminary Loss “Potential” Report
Pre and Post Outage On-Site Testing
Final Report - including detailed loss analysis and repair recommendations
